Searching "foundation repair reviews" gives you stars, not answers. This guide shows what to look for. LevelSATX Foundation Network publishes no reviews or ratings of its own and we will never invent any.

The story: the high score that said nothing

Picture this (a typical scenario, not a real customer). A homeowner picks the company with the highest star score, then finds the warranty claim line goes unanswered. The score said nothing about what happens after the check clears.

Where to look (check them yourself)

  • Google Business Profile: read recent and low-star reviews and owner responses.
  • Better Business Bureau: check complaint history and how complaints were resolved.
  • Neighbors and local groups: ask about jobs completed years ago.
  • Your city's permit records where available.

Always view the live pages on the date you hire. Scores change.

10 reading rules

  1. Read the 1- and 2-star reviews first. Look for patterns, not one-offs.
  2. Check how the company responds. Professional replies to problems matter.
  3. Look for warranty-claim stories. Years-later service reveals more than day-one praise.
  4. Discount generic praise. 'Great job!' with no detail tells you little.
  5. Watch review dates. A burst of reviews in a short window deserves a second look.
  6. Match the job type. A reshim review does not predict a pier job.
  7. Compare across platforms. Do Google and BBB tell the same story?
  8. Verify reviewer details when possible. Real neighborhoods and specifics help.
  9. Ignore testimonials found only on the company site. Check independent sources.
  10. Call a reference. Ask for a past customer whose work is at least a few years old.

Reviews can't replace the basics

Even great reviews do not replace elevations, a written cause, an itemized quote and a readable warranty. Use the quote worksheet and red flag list alongside reviews. Soil on Bexar County sites varies (Texas Master Naturalist), so a review about a different neighborhood may not predict your outcome.
